Welcome AM Evansville viewers! Here are the Black Friday Tips we discussed on today's show:
1. Compare store opening times and plan out which stores to hit first. Many stores this year are opening at midnight (including Target, Kohl's, and Old Navy) or even earlier, in the case of Toys R Us (9pm) and Walmart (10pm).
2. Pay attention to doorbuster hours as a few stores have multiple doorbuster times (Toys R US and Walmart).
3. Plan ahead for potentially long lines to get inside. Be sure to dress warmly (wear layers) and wear comfortable shoes. Last year I had to wait two hours to get into Toys R Us due to maximum occupancy regulations!
4. Shop with a partner to help decrease your time in each store. You can split up and find items in different parts of the store, or have one person stand in line while another find items. However, do not line jump. The person who stands in line should be the only person conducting a purchase transaction.
5. Compare Black Friday ad prices on music, movies, games, and more to Amazon online as their prices may be as good or even better - and from the comfort of your own home.
6. Remember that Walmart will price match competitor ads on identical items. Price matching is only done for ads that list an exact price (so percentages off and BOGO deals are excluded).
