Black Friday Tips and Strategies

Well we're getting down to the last few days before the biggest shopping day of the year.  I'm really excited!  I've been going through all the ad scans trying to decide what I want to buy and where.  Here are some tips to help you plan out your day:

• Make a list before you go shopping (we have a list of ad scans posted, so you don't have to wait until Thanksgiving to look at ads!) and plan a store strategy. Decide what order you will hit each store. Try to set achievable goals.
Amazon is matching or even beating many deals while providing free shipping on orders over $25 so check online before you shop.
• If you don’t receive home newspaper delivery, make plans to pick up a newspaper on Thanksgiving (gas station convenience stores are likely open that day) so that you’ll have all of the Black Friday ads.
• A cheap ticket price could mean a cheap quality product. Spend some time researching products you may want to buy to make sure it really is a good deal.
• If possible, try to get someone to watch your kids. My wonderful in-laws will be having my kids over for a sleepover on Thanksgiving night this year!
• Bring a snack or two along to keep your energy up.  You might also want to bring a drink, like bottled water.  And don't forget to stop by Burger King for free coffee during breakfast hours!
•  Bring your ads and coupons with you.  You can put them into a small folder to keep them organized and safe.
• Wear comfortable shoes. Also if you aren’t going to be picking up large items, skip using a cart. The aisles tend to be crowded, so it’s easier to move quickly without one.
• Walmart will be price matching competitors' ads (however gift card bonuses, percentages off and buy one, get one free deals are excluded from price matching). Only exact items will be price matched and if the competitor advertises the deal for a specific time frame, then Walmart will only price match during those times. Be sure to bring your competitor ads in with you!
• If you miss out on a deal, don't stress - there is still Cyber Monday and a month until Christmas. We’ll keep you up-to-date on the best online deals and store sales from now until Christmas!
