Toobeez EZ-Fort Building Toy Review
It seems like most kids love forts and my son Peter (age 3) is no exception. His attempts to make a fort include covering the top of the baby's pack-n-play with a blanket or pulling all the cushions off both couches and standing them upright arranged a circle - which is cute, but I'd rather not have him playing with my furniture! Well Toobeez has created a product to help channel kids' creativity and allow them to build a fort, playhouse, hideaway, or whatever their imaginations desire. This 54-piece building toy has enough pieces to build all sorts of creations: (20) 24-inch tubes, (14) 17-inch tubes, and (20) 2.5-inch connecting spheres. The pieces connect with a patent pending "Friction and Tension" method of connecting.
Peter was thrilled with his fort and had a lot of fun playing in it. However, even though the product is designed for ages 3-7, we found that he was too young to actually assemble the fort himself. And the pieces weren't durable enough to withstand his energy - one piece snapped in half - so this is probably a toy that would be better for an older child.
The EZ-Fort is available in three styles: the Original (which is what we reviewed), the Fairy Tale Castle, and the Bunker. The Original does not include a covering (you can use a sheet or large blanket) but the Fairy Tale Castle comes with a pink covering and the Bunker comes with a black covering. Toobeez backs their products with a fourteen day money-back guarantee.
Thanks to my family - Scott, Zach, and Barbara - for helping with building the fort and taking the picture!
Thanks to Toobeez for providing me with a complimentary EZ-Fort to review. No other compensation was received and all views expressed are my honest opinions.
